i dont think you can just say your not fishing for stripers thou if an officer does ask.  It is like fishing in the local trout streams, you need a trout stamp to fish in pennypack no matter what your fishing for, for that possibility that you may catch one wanting to or not

The registry is to fish any coastal/tidal water for any species.  Its not a "striper" registry.  Its an all around registry.

just got mine in the mail today. it too will eventually make its way to the bottom of my stack of cards in my wallet, as last years has never been taken out. on the back it says..

"federal law requires you keep this card with you when fishing in designated waters and present to law enforcement officers upon request".

mine from last year is so faded you cant read any of the info on the front. maybe the 10$ fee will be used to invest in better printing and construction of these cards... what a joke. at least someone will be getting rich off this, guess our freedom to fish costs 10 dollars

REuped on the 28th , Last year they were cracking down on guys on the beach in cape may. I also got asked by the fish police here in philly and both times when I had it they seemed upset that they could not fine me . its all BS

In the fishing report on the Brinkmans bait and tackle website it was reported that Pennsylvania is exempt from the Noaa registry for 2011.

yeah i just saw that today, too bad i already have mine haha, just gona use it for the shore
Itching for some fishing.
