Trout. You can always chase trout in the wintertime. There are other opportunities as well. Just need to slow down you technique as fish won't do a lot of chasing in the winter.

What do you mean by local? You can find cod, haddock, tog, sea bass, mackeral, down the shore, and perch, crappie, bluegills and maybe a musky ice fishing. All within 2hrs of the city.

Was that for your christmas card, Lou?   ;)

Sure was. I caught a carp every month for over 5 years before I forgot for a couple months last year :)
Here's another one, when it was finished:

Id say buy yourself an auger and start ice fishing. ice fishings the shit, and its cheap... though its not for everyone... if you like the challenge of finding and catching finicky fish, you can have a lot of fun in the winter. You can fish anywhere on the lake without a boat, so it gives the shorebound angler an equal oppurtunity at some quality fish. marsh creek is 35 minutes away, with hopewell and scotts run being another 20 minutes west. youve got trout, panfish, bass, pickerel, musky, pike and walleyes between these 3 lakes.

this winter we gotta have a PAC ice together. grill, drink, catch some fish and brush off some cabin fever...

nice louis  ;)
