If anyone is interested in learning some old facts about the Schuylkill check out this book.
"The History of Montgomery County Within the Schuylkill Valley" by William J. Buck in 1858
Think about it, a book on history that was written in 1858.
Its so old, that at the end of the chapter on the skuke
the author predicts that the canal will soon be expanded to accommodate two-hundered and fifty ton tug boats from the ocean and directly through Montgomery County.
