I do believe that this past weekend was the transition between summer and fall on our local waterways. With a much needed drenching and lower temperatures I experienced my most intense action of 2015.
Saturday the snakeheads were on fire! I ended up catching two large and two average sized snakeheads. All fell victim to a chatter bait. All hit the lure like freight trains. Two went totally ballistic going aerial numerous times. It was a challenge unhooking all four. The largest one totally swallowed the chatter bait and I decided to harvest him. I also managed two decent LMB.
Sunday was a LMB slaughterfest. I brought 8 to hand and lost 3 or 4 more. Both Saturday and Sunday sessions were about 3.5 hours each.
No school today (Monday) in celebration of Rosh Hashanah. Fished four hours this morning with a high pressure front and still managed four LMB one of which was my PB for this area and a Red-Bellied Turtle who turned into my mascot for awhile.

Here's hoping for an extended fall season with consistent action!
