we already ran through a recap on the old forum here:
http://www.websiteto...post?id=2376485
If you guys had the energy to move your posts here that would be great, some of them were really spectacular examples of PAC intensity!
I never posted my recap yet... I was still organizing some last minute pics from dec 26-30... so here goes:

I didnt fish again until february... it was coming down to the wire for my (at the time) 4 year carp catching loop. i've had a carp every month since 2003. I scraped by thanks to a tip on where some fish were from wg. this was a sweet winter mirror!
our bank cleanup was the last day of march. I almost screwed up my loop again! but I went fishing with GC in the AM before the cleanup and saved it!
I caught my first fish from lake ontelaunee at our first non-skuke fish in.
my first eye of the year, sometime in march..

i caught this pb striper the day before the KOW started! i was fishing for crappies with 6 lb test, and i decided to give some soft palstics a whirl after dave migliore asked "why not?" it took forever to drag this sack in.

i fished for a bunch of bass for the KOW. this one is from nockamixon. not my biggest at all, but i like this picture.

donnie got married! he's a fish guy, so thats fish news... matt and I were in the wedding and we made fun of the corny pghotographer. it was the best wedding I've ever been to.
I caught 100 of these stupid things for the KOW.
Matt and I were to be in a carp tournament in baldwinsville, ny in may. I went up early to pre fish. the fishing there is awesome, for lots of species!!

and this guy caught a sturgeon right in front of me!
i finally got to fish with dave moore, he came up early too to get the event set up.
I caught so many fish while I was there, it really blew my mind.
2 weeks later, matt and I cam up early for the tournament. We met all kinds of people and saw some buddies we already knew from the Carp Anglers Group. did i mention the fishing there was awesome? we ended up 7th overall with over 1000 lbs of carp in 50 hours. the winners caught over 3000 lbs!!!
back home we had this bet going on... carp vs flatheads, who can catch more over 25 lbs. we kept telling team flathead about all of our secret locations and they were getting so mad. I fished fairmount like 80% of the time and I really got a kick out of everybody else getting so salty about the secrets. then, we qll decided to quit before it was over, because everyone was being jerks and matt and I were sick of fishing the schuylkll only. for the record... team carp was in the lead when we called it
this one's for you tan!!

I went on a fishing trip to Florida with my dad. It was Awesome.
This is a gopher tortoise. they are a protected species. I can't believe I found one. First Tortoise ever.
we caught all kinds of fish, but most were small.
first snook:
bigger snook.
we had 4 guys so we sprung for a charter. I hated it, because the captain was a dick and he wouldnt let us do anything but reel in fish like this one.. I prefer actually FISHING.
I finally convinced him to let me fish a rod by myself, and I caught this! in 30 years the captain said it's the biggest he's ever seen! then he let it die in the fish box, and threw it in the water next to the dock... as a guy on shore begged for it! then, this guy gave ME a lecture on C&R!!! what a dick!
i spent forever trying to cathc one of these.

it was sooo much work with the records and the pictures that i didnt compete for the rest of the year.
I still came in 6th for the year even though i stopped recording and submitting fish.
Anyway, Since B ville had so many fish, I went there to try and catch enough to win. I caught a lot more fish... to 28 lbs... but no 30's! >
and my first bowfin!
Matt ran the Carp Anglers Group Invitational at Lake Marburg. I helped some, and we caught some fish..
I left directly from the competition to go to B ville for the ACL... and I went back the following weekend with becky.
the fishing sucked all of a sudden because the fish were spawning! so we went south to ithaca to try and catch some fish in cayuga lake. we checked out some waterfalls while we were there...

anybody know what this is?
matt and I got to legally fish a special place that no one is allowed anymore. it was a great.
My sister went fishing with me at manayunk canal to help me finish a forthcoming article that I'm very proud of... it will be in the next North American Carp Angler Magazine.... joins CAG now, or buy a copy at www.carpanglersgroup.com if you want to see it :
Rod mills from CAG visited and did some fishing, I wanted him to get his first philly carp so bad.. but I caught 2 and he didnt get jack! next time...
my sister's roommate's family runs a flounder trip every year... I went on that with her and my dad. It was a blast. I caught the most fish and won the pool.

I caught this mirror from the a special lake in the poconos where I learned how to fish and catch turtles and snakes, etc when I was a kid. It was a moment...

I got these custom boiles rolled for frank warwick and pete castle.. he's a big head in the UK carp scene. they fished in the Baldwinsville tournament but the bait got stuck in customs... it was finally released a few days before we filmed the show. all of team dynamite was able to split it up. I still only used a little...
anyway, you can see the show on youtube here:
http://www.youtube.c...er=DVOTV&page=2
its dvo707 1, 2, and 3
I went on my second salmon trip to NY with a whole load of PACers. It was great!
I caught some weird suckers i never saw before... on jigs!
and I made 60 lbs of gravlax!
Matt and I travelled deep into western maryland after some hot tips about a major big fish lake. Some friends of ours fished 4 days the week before and blanked... but the heard fish, and they put a load of bait in the water. with all that pre baiting, we couldn't resist. We caught fish the very first night... and the second night. it felt great to have cracked a new lake... I hope to go back some day...

The Carp Anglers Group ran a contest called "Discovery Month." It was a story competition about who could write the best tale about finding and fishing a new water or a new area of a water. There is a place in PA where Matt and I have blanked numerous times, but we knew it had to hold big fish. For many years we both had also been in search of a carp over 30 lbs in Pennsylvania. This became the story of how we both caught one. We fished a new location on this lake, and caught a ton of nice fish. It was very rewarding. We won the competition, we got some prizes and our story was published in the CAG magazine. someday when it's stale, I'll post it up here...

I randomly was driving in york, PA, and happened by the discharge from lake redman... I was with a friend, and I had places to be, but I guessed I could catch a carp there and not be late. I got this little guy in 10 minutes! my first codurus creek carp.
I drove withBecky to new orleans and fished in ALabama on the way back the week after Christmas. I caught a bunch of buffalo to 29 lbs and one carp. that makes 11 states I have caught carp in(+DC) 16 states I have caught fish in, and 41 states I have visited! I will make 50 pretty soon!
I hope that gets our new forum off to a great start! Best 2008 to everybody!

Aki lets fish with Lou and Matt for carp sometime... make it competitive and see if I can out fish you on a species I know nothing about...!!!
I grew up fishing for carps. ;D
I'll fish the Japanese ways with sweet potatos and bonito flakes.
If it's a shallow water, then I will chum up with bread and do some topwater carping with my Japanese topwater lure specifically designed for carp.
Fly fishing for carp is also my favorit way.
But I haven't fished for carp for long time.... :

2007 started off with a few stops at some local trout streams for some trout. I never managed any pictures from those trips, but the first trip that was worth anything, was our trip too Erie for some steelhead action. The spring was a great run of steel, and we had a blast. Me, Tom,Bill and his boys ripped into Erie. Lots of fresh fish were grabbed up.
(image)
(/image)Tom with his 12 jumper
(image)
(/image)A few older boys and girls were grabbed up as well.
(
(/image}And i got my first in the dark
(image)
(/image)After Erie Tom and I spent some time on the shads. We did very well as always, for some reason we never get any pictures, i think the reason is pictures take to much time to take. When shad fishing you could land 2 to 3 other fish by the time it takes to take a picture.
After a great time in Erie and shad fishing in maryland. it was on too some salt runs for the stripers. Took a run on the Adam Bomb one spring day and did very well, nothing huge, but a ton of fun.
(image)
(/image)Spent a few nights at one of our favorite holes were i managed my first--
(image)
(/image)Can't forget the carps-nothing real big, but found a cool spot that held a few
(image)
(/image)On to the summer, hot days-what else do you do, go for Big cats-
(image)
(/image) My PB at 8 Lbs.The only other hot ticket, is the salt for some good old fluke. Had a great run of them as well. Few Larger fish in the mix.
(image)
(/image)(image)
(/image)Now for some fun. On too the DSR for salmon. This was my first trip and i had a blast. We rolled into New York with i think 9 or 10 PAC members, and we took over.
This was my first---
(image)
(/image)And i can't ever get enough of this pic by Louis-
(image)
(/image)Another battle in NY pic-
(image)
(/image)On to fall, spent alot of usless nights for stripers at a dam, never really did well enough for pictures, but then back to the salt for some real stripes. A few trips with the stalker- and my PB for 07-20 lbs
(image)
(/image)And a real good time on the stalker-
(image)
(/image)(image)
(/image)By now you should see a pattern, so it was off to Erie again, for a killer fall run. This was a great trip, thanks again WG, i just wish we could have stayed that last whole day.

(/image)(image)
(/image)I had a great 2007. I got to hang out with a great bunch of friends, and PAC members. Louis,Dano,Bill,WG,Tan,Tom,Romo,Newhips,Enoch and anyone else i may have forgot. I truely have met some great anglers, and look forward too fishing with all of you on here. Thank you Louis and Matt for all your hard work in making a great web site. Heres to 2008!!!!! Look for the first 2008 report real soon......
