Okay so me and Chris (ILoveFishing) are really itching to get out on our kayaks, and of course we'll be fishing. It's gunna be nice out tomorrow so we figured we'd take advantage of it. We can't really decide where to go though. We were thinking of heading up the river towards new hope, or the neshaminy marina. What do you guys think is a good place to go right now?
Universally speaking, you can't go wrong with a 7ft rod, and a 2500 model reel. Both the Premier, and Triumphs models of St. Croixs are excellent rods under a $100. As for reels, I wouldn't know where to start. Shimano, Okuma, Daiwa, or even Pfluegar are making some really sweet reels for 2012. Its all about personal preference. As for line, you can never go wrong with braid. You can always use a flouro leader if your fishing clear water. Good luck shopping around. They make such such a wide variation of reels and rods today its sickening.
I actually use a Shimano 2500 right now, as well as braided line. I'll check out those rods and i'm definitely gunna start using leaders when i use braid. thanks a lot
All depends on where your fishing for bass. The rods, reels, and line are limitless. Couldn't really recommend anything unless I had an idea of where and how you wanted to target bass. Whatever the combo, it won't be the last one you purchase.
I usually fish smaller lakes and streams. I know there's different things for different situations i was just looking for some general reccomendations before i went out and spent the money.
What a joke, I'll continue wearing my felt soles no matter where I go, I'm not jeopardizing my safety because they're worried I don't clean my shoes of slime.
you gotta be careful if you wear them from place to place make sure you wash the bottom and all the felt, there is a thing called whirling disease that can kill certain species of fish from the bacteria that may be transferred from place to place.
